10/26/04 - Haha wow long time since this has been updated. Since I finally got my comp back up and running properly, we'll be putting up a lot more recordings and pics, etc. Oh yeah, incase you didn't know, we got a new bassist and singer, brothers, Conor and Ian. They've been an awesome addition to the band and we're glad to have them. Woooo lots of updates.
SHOWS!!
Nov. 5, 6, or 7 - Party (more details later)
Nov. 19 - Charter School Dance
Someone we know is probably having a party at their house the weekend after Halloween but we don't know for sure yet. Also, our friend Tom from Charter School got us the gig to play at their dance. We don't know how long we're playing, how many people can go, how long it's gunna be, but I'll post all the details here when we get them.
Since the end of the summer when we added on Ian and Conor, we've started working on our originals more and currently, we have at least 5 done or in the making. We'll try to get them recorded and put up as soon as we get the time. That's it for now, to be updated soon (and more often).
8/13/04 - Time for a long, overdue update. Sorry for the long delay, Tripod took the site down for some reason, I think it was the credit card on the account. But anyways, with the summer coming to an end soon, lots is happening. We haven't jammed with Adam at all and we jammed to When I Come Around and Chick Magnet with Diego one day. Andrew should be getting back from camp any day now and we'll start practicing with him again. Earlier this summer, it was said that Andrew wouldn't be in Double Excel when he came back, but we've gotten over all that and it will all be going back to the the way it was before the summer started, just much better 8-)
Sebastien, Luke, and I recorded a new, better quality version of Commando with Luke and Me singing. Good stuff :-D Check it out Here or it the downloads section. We are working on a few originals and hoping to get a singer soon so we can write lyrics and have sum vocals when we play. When we get parts of it recorded, I'll upload them to the site so you all can hear.
With the summer coming to an end, we are starting to plan the promised end of the summer concert at the Civic League. When I talk to all the other bands and get a date planned, I'll post it here so you can know when to come. The bands most likely to be playing are Double Excel, Ally's House, Luck of The Draw, Dead Ellington, and The Stompin' Charlies.
Give us your feedback on our recordings and everything else on the Message Board Here !!!!!!!!!!
7/2/04 - With the summer here, Andrew at jew camp, and Martin leaving the band, time for an update. As said, Andrew is at Tevya for the summer and Martin has moved back to Luck of The Draw. With this, the band for the summer will have 2 additions. As planned, Diego will be singing with us and Adam, former guitarist for Luck of The Draw, will be jammin with us a bit. We should all start jammin together within the next 2 weeks. I'm goin to Maine for a week on Saturday and the week after that Seb and I are goin to bandcamp. Most likely, we'll be jammin at Luke's house, next to Larnits Pond, for the summer. When we get some shows goin, I'll put it up on the site to let you all know.
6/19/04 - Been a little more than a month since this page has had an update so why not not? This past week has been awesome as Andrew, Luke, and me have been playing concerts at school for random people, randomly scheduled. Today and Monday, we will have all gotten out of school for summer and getting ready to jam more. Unfortunately, Andrew will be goin to jew camp for the summer, so the summer will change around a bit. Luke, Sebastien, and me will be going between bands jamming with Martin and Diego singing, and jammin with Ethan and Adam from Luck of The Draw. Anyways, since none of this has been worked out yet, the page will be updated letting you know what it'll be like for the summer.
Andrew and I went out to Guitar Center today and picked up a mixer, and I got some drum mics for graduation, so look for us to start recording again, but with much better quality. Tonight, Andrew and I were working on figuring out the new equip so we recorded a run of Panama so check that out in the downloads section. Tomorrow, Andrew and I are going to see Van Halen play at the Worcester Centrum for their reunion tour and that's going to kick ass!
From the shows that we played at school, Kevin Walunas took some nice pics that I'm hoping to get some time soon which I'll then put on the pics section. Also, if there are any songs that you've heard us play recently or in the past that you think would be cool recorded with our new equip, email tyler@doubleexcel.com and let me know and maybe we'll do it.
Currently, we have 3 original works in progress which are coming out pretty nice. As soon as we get those finished and recorded, the first place they'll be is on the downloads section so keep checking back for more updates!
5/16/04 - FINALLY!! We have a singer! Martin, from Walsh, has offered to sing for us, and hopefully we can keep him as our steady singer. We'll be recording some things with him hopefully starting next weekend, maybe sometime this week. Yesterday we spent some time recording Aces High by Iron Maiden. It came out pretty good, but next week we should get a better version with Martin and hopefully Sebastien. We've been thinking of possibly over the summer to save up for a 4-track digital recorder for better quality recording that we can put onto CD's. Right now, if you want any of our songs on a CD, email tyler@doubleexcel.com and I'll try to get them on for you. I'm not planning on mailing any out, so if you're asking for one, you have to be someone we know and see often. But anyways, I'm going to be changing the site around a bit this week, hopefully a new layout, new pics next weekend, more lyrics, and some other cool shit under the Misc section. Check out Aces High!
4/11/04 - Finally, we got a chance to jam this weekend. Sebastien couldn't come so we recorded Commando by The Ramones, Panama by Van Halen, and a better version of NIB by Black Sabbath. All of our previously recorded songs are being taken off and soon to be re-recorded since we have learned them better. Hopefully, we'll be able to get them up by next weekend or sometime over vacation. Keep checking back...
3/7/04 - We are looking for a new, dedicated singer. We need someone who will come to our rehearsals at Tyler's house every Saturday and other days that we meet. We have a microphone and an amp, but if you have something better you can bring your own.
Over the weekend, we recorded Panama, The Call of Ktulu, NIB, Fade To Black, and a Jam. Unfortunately, whoever saved Panama and Ktulu saved them wrong so we don't have those. Go to the downloads section to download Fade To Black, NIB, and a jam written by Stevie Ra Vaughan.
2/14/04 - I've finished the Contacts and Downloads section of the site and am now moving on to work on the Misc., News, and Pics. We'll be jammin a lot this school vacation so if you want to check us out, give one of us a call and you can sit in some time. We're open for suggestions. If you have any ideas for the website, cover songs, etc., tell one of us either in school or look in the Contact section. School vaca until Feb 23!
2/9/04 - We finally got a webpage up today. I'll be putting up stuff like pictures, songs, biographies, and news. Email me if you have any suggestions for the band or the website at digthat27@msn.com.
